Organizational Chart

The administrative structure of the Science and Technology Center (CTC) resembles that of the other three Centers in the University. It is headed by the Dean, elected by the faculty members and the Vice-Deans, (Undergraduate, Graduate and Development) who are appointed by the Dean to compose his office. The Departments are autonomous units, headed by a Department Chair and staffed by Course Coordinators, also elected by their peers. Academic and administrative decisions are made in committees and task-forces.

The Science and Technology Center is composed of nine Departments: Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Informatics, Chemical and Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil and Environment Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Electrical Engineering (that includes the Center for Telecommunications Studies – CETUC). The courses offered in the Center, however, are interdisciplinary in nature and, thus, allow for effective integration of the different areas in both teaching and research interests.
